About Muslin Wool
Muslin is a loosely-woven light weight merino-wool fabric introduced to Japan from Europe (originally from the Middle East in the 17th century). It became a very popular textile amongst people who couldn't afford to get silk kimono, especially for it's similarly beautiful drape and color.
Because muslin is a breathable fabric, muslin clothing is suitable for hot, dry climates.
Muslin wool is very light, woven with incredibly thin single-stranded thread. It has a distinctively rich color and is warm but breathable. Most wool is considered as "winter material" but light weight muslin wool can be worn all season even in spring and early summer. Smooth and comfortable on skin; not itchy like most other wool products.
For care, we recommend hand wash or dry clean.
